Hi everyone! Spring is giving us longer and brighter days, so it’s the perfect period of the year to stay outdoor as much as possible and enjoy Dublin and its surroundings even more.
I’ve always been fascinated by historic buildings and in particular castles. Luckily, when it comes to castles, Ireland offers quite a few options! Recently I had a chance to see some of them and I like how they are all different and unique. Malahide castle, thanks to the well-maintained furniture, gives you a clear idea of the owners’ lifestyle. Trim castle is the largest Anglo-Norman castle in Ireland but another reason of its fame is the movie Braveheart… and who wouldn’t like to relive that charming historic atmosphere, even if only for a day? After that, I had heard of Rathfarnham Castle in Dublin 14, a nice example of Georgian-style renovation, and I couldn’t help but visiting it. These places are definitely worth a visit!
Also, since in the past months I had never visited Trinity College, I thought that a visit could no longer be postponed. The tour with the history of the University and its buildings was very engaging, and I really liked the Book of Kells and the amazing Old Library.
About my EVS experience, I’ve almost finished my seventh month here and it’s unbelievable how time flies. In the past few weeks I had the opportunity to try some new activities and I’m grateful for that because I really love to learn new things and put myself to the test.
Spring really boosted my energies and now I’m ready to make the most of the last three months of my EVS experience.
