s‘Breathe’ is the name of a small group of people aiming to hang out in the Aungier Street area of South Dublin, asking the question ‘what is God up to here – how can we join in?’We are committed to standards of excellence, giving children the best start in life.

Breathe is about being rather than doing. There’s no one address where ‘Breathe stuff’ happens. There’s very few set events or scheduled things. It’s about being present in our workplaces, our homes, our neighbourhoods. Yes, we have days of prayer 4 times a year, weekly prayer meetings, and monthly gatherings around the dinner table in someone’s home.

But Breathe is about life. It’s about God, Jesus & the Holy Spirit’s presence in our everyday life. It’s about the breath of God resurrecting our lives, sitting in the dry valley with us & giving us hope for sun-bleached bones to come back to life.

Breathe is a small group of humans hanging out in Dublin. With each other, with our co-workers, with our family and friends, trying to see God’s work right in front of us. THEN joining in with that, with the joy, the love, the peace, the patience, the kindness, the goodness, the faithfulness, the gentleness, and the self-control.

So sometimes this looks like 2 people in a prayer room asking how do we forgive others? Or a childcare worker praying with their colleague for their sick father. Or mourning employees using a prayer room for grief counselling. Or 8 people laughing while eating curry around a dinner table. Or jumping our hearts out at JumpZone with our church family. Or someone joining in with local soup runs. Or 5 people in a prayer room sitting in silence for 5 whole minutes. Or sitting in Stephen’s Green celebrating yet another birthday. Or discerning which parts of our life are dry and need more of God’s breath.

Breathe is a living, walking, working, sleeping, eating, laughing, crying community who believe God is still breathing in this world.

Check out the Breathe prayer room on the second floor of the YMCA on Aungier Street to pray, meditate or simply take a breath.
