Our Events

Community Breakfast

It’s as simple as opening our doors and feeding people. We believe no one should go to work or school hungry. No parent should have to worry about feeding their child. We host a community breakfast in the community hub early in the morning so students can get to school and parents to work. It’s great to see individuals meeting, whole families gathering and cross-generations eating together.

YMCA Dublin is 170 years old this year! In celebration of this milestone, we will also be hosting our 170th birthday event on 7th June at 4:30pm in our sports hall at our Aungier Street location.

If you would like to donate, require any further information, or RSVP to our 170th birthday event, please email Rachel at rachel.kinlan@ymca-ireland.net.

Central to our community work, YMCA Dublin currently hosts two community events annually. These events are sponsored by our corporate partners are days of great fun and excitement for the general public as well as staff.

Celebrate the Y

Based in our Aungier St. facility, on ‘Celebrate the Y’ day we aim to cater for all ages. Childcare are entertained by puppets or a magician in the morning, and also get to play on the bouncy castles throughout the day.

Bouncy castles aren’t just for the kids; after their BBQ lunch, staff get time to bounce before the youth group comes in and takes their turn.

There are a number of various activities throughout the day before an evening movie. This movie is accompanied by pizza and popcorn for all the users and volunteers of the Y. We are always delighted when staff from our corporate sponsor arrive to help serve the food and get to know some of the locals and see our work in action.

Family Fun Day

Also in August, we travel to our Sandymount location for a day of bouncy castles, crafts, face painting, games and a BBQ.

This one day event draws a big crowd every year and even bus loads come from West Dublin YMCA.

Again we are thankful to volunteers and corporate sponsors who without their support, this event couldn’t happen. We are always looking at ways of continually giving to the community and showing that they are valued. This free event hopefully does just that.
