YMCA Fitness Classes
We have a full and diverse range of class options . From Cardio (Cardio Attack) to Strength (Strength & Cardio, Killer Bells) to HIIT style classes (Tabata) and Core (Abs and Core).
All our classes are suitable for all fitness levels as the fitness staff will vary the intensity, reps or weight for each person and modify any of the exercises to suit you.
We have no joining fees on any of our memberships Gym & Class membership includes full access to our class timetable.
All classes can attended Pay as you go; €10 non members, and €7 members
We are proudly Dublin’s social enterprise gym with our surplus going toward our work with young people via our Youth Spaces services.
Our senior classes at the YMCA are open to people 50 years plus. Our classes are based on fundamental movements, exercises and techniques catered around a low impact enjoyable fitness experience. Our senior fitness classes are a combination of both gym and studio based workouts where your progress will be monitored.
Box, Barbells & Abs
A fun boxercise style workout combined with strength and conditioning focused exercises followed by an intense core orientated circuit to finish.
Using only body weight designed exercises, this class is energetic and challenging yet rewarding.
The classic cycle workout, get a sweat on with various circuits on the bike, like hill climbs and sprints.
Intense workout that targets the entire body using a traditional circuit format,this will burn the weekend’s calories while still building lean muscle.
Taking the old school classic right up to date! This class is high in endurance and runs to beats and routines. Step Aerobics is a top calorie burner and guaranteed body toner!
A unique combination of high volume strength work with intervals of high intense cardio.
Is a combination of power lifting techniques and explosive exercises to help improve strength and flexibility but it also helps with durability too during exercise and training. Ideal for people wanting to gain some more physical strength or a bit of general fitness but also for people wanting to go down the strength side of fitness and explore it in a bigger way and this is the ideal class to do so.
Is a full body intense workout combining physical train from all sectors of the public service (police,fire service and military)
LBT (legs, bums and tums)
Is an intense lower body workout that focuses solely on legs and abs(abdominals), building strength and durability.
Is a high intensity class that includes boxing exercises and techniques mixed in with intense cardio and ab training.
Using both kettlebells and barbells to combine compound movements with light weight loads and high reps you will work multiple muscles at a time to really burn fat and tone you all over! Adaptations and progressions will be provided so this class is ideal for both beginners and advanced level.
Pilates mat exercise is a low impact workout developed by Joseph Pilates over 70 years ago and it is specifically designed to increase strength, flexibility, better posture and better breathing capacity and overall body awareness and health. Pilates focuses on the smaller and deeper muscles that support our body structure and it has proven itself to be invaluable not only as a form of general fitness but as an important support to professional sports training and physical rehabilitation.
