Youth Work Team Leader

Role Description: My role is assisting the facilitation of clubs to young people who attend the Y, helping to provide a fun and safe environment for all young people to enjoy.

Best part of your job: The best part of my job is seeing young people being themselves while having fun and learning new life skills day to day.

How long have you been working in the Y: I started working in the Y in January 2018.

What do you like to do in your free time: In my free time I like to watch movies and spend time with family and friends (and my dogs)

Lead Youth cafe worker/ Youth worker

Role Description: Develop programmes and activities for young people to participate in, along with running a drop in service for young people where they can relax and be themselves in a warm safe non-judgemental space.

Best part of your job: Getting to take part in various projects and activities over the summer holidays and mid-term breaks.

How long have you been working in the Y: I joined the YMCA in 2015

What do you like to do in your free time: I like to spend time with my friends playing video games or going for walks around town when the weather permits.

Role Description: Delivering Youth Work Programmes

Best part of your job: Getting to work with the young people and engaging with them through different activities

How long have you been working in the Y: Over 20 years!

What do you like to do in your free time: Weekends Away, minding the mother and helping the locals!

Youthwork

We cater for young people from aged 10 and up in the local community in a fun and safe environment where young people have the opportunity to engage in  a variety of activities.

Youth Cafe

We provide a drop in service for young people in the area with our quiet, safe space where young people can come in and be themselves, relax with friends or talk to someone if needed.

Plus One Mentoring

We provide a support network to young people aged 10-17 years old who are going through a period of transition in their lives, and may be in need of an extra bit of guidance and support.
