Role Description: To manage the youth work team and ensure the development of universal and targeted youth work programmes. Ensuring we are providing a safe and welcoming environment for all young people that come through our doors assisting them to reach their full potential.

Best part of your job: The best part of my job is seeing the growth and development  in young people and providing young people with a space to be themselves and learn new skills. 

How long have you been working in the Y: I started working in the Y in January 2018.

What do you like to do in your free time: I like to walk my dogs, binge watch shows, meet up with friends and family and support the dubs!

Role Description: My role is to develop and facilitate programmes and activities for young people, helping them to build life skills, develop healthy relationships and make decisions that are right for them.

Best part of your job: The best part of my job is the joy of working with young people, it is always different and no day is the same. Each young person is unique, they bring their own life experience, needs and expectations and you get to see them develop and grow.

How long have you been working in the Y: I joined the YMCA in 2015

What do you like to do in your free time: In my spare time I like to spend time with friends, play video games, draw, and get out into nature along with drinking copious amounts of tea, anyone who works with me knows I always have a cup of tea with me.

What do you like to do in your free time: Weekends Away, minding the mother and helping the locals!

What do you like to do in your free time: I spend my free time with my friends or watching movies.

Role Description: My role is Assistant Youth Worker.

Best part of your job: The best part of my job is spending time with the young people and getting to know them all. I learn so much from them.

How long have you been working in the Y: I’ve been working at the YMCA since september 2021.

What do you like to do in your free time: I like to stay active and on my feet so I spend most of my free time dancing and training. I also like to travel as often as I can.

Youth Services Support Worker

Role Description: Youth Worker and Outreach Worker

Best part of your job: I finally figured out how to get paid to play football! Honestly though, working with young people has been incredibly rewarding and is usually great fun.

How long have you been working in the Y: I started with the youth work team in June and have been working in outreach since August.

What do you like to do in your free time: I’m a big football fan and have a love of sports in general.  Other than that I like going to the cinema, trying new food, a bit of reading, and playing some football or golf.

Role Description: Outreach Worker.

Best part of your job: The best part of working with the YMCA for me is the staff and young people that we interact with everyday.

How long have you been working in the Y: I have been a full time youth and outreach worker for four months now.

What do you like to do in your free time: I like to make music and watch movies, along with socialising with friends and family and having a laugh.

How long have you been working:
I joined YMCA  in Sept 2021 as part of the Alternative Suspension Team.  
 
Best Part of the Job:
For me, it’s seeing a young person who is finding school a little difficult, go home with a smile on their face and hopefully making a positive impact on them even in a small way.  
 
What do you like to do in your Spare Time:
I love to spend time with my niece and my three dogs Charlie, Mia, and Pipa.  I also love Arts & Crafts and have a love for learning.
