WELCOME TO YMCA DUBLIN
YMCA Dublin has been helping vulnerable young people in Dublin’s Inner City for over 160 years.
Youth work, education, family support programmes, community childcare and community employment are just some of the services built into the very core of the YMCA’s existence. We work with young people from créche going age through to youth work with education programmes for those who leave school early.
In order to support our charity services we run two social enterprises- our fitness facilities in two locations (Aungier Street, Dublin 2 and Sandymount, Dublin 4) and YMCA Childcare (full and part-time quality affordable childcare service).
YMCA Dublin is open to all regardless of faith, social class, ethnicity, age or gender. Our mission is dedicated to the growth of all persons in spirit, mind and body. We value a sense of responsibility to each other and the global community.
We are a community-based charity operating as a social enterprise. All income we generate goes directly back into funding our local community projects and initiatives. This year we celebrate our 170th birthday.
Our Youth Spaces programmes include youth work, our youth cafe, Plus-One Mentoring programme and STEP, our back to education programme, which all strengthen the local community by getting young people and their families involved in a range of activities.
We offer quality and affordable childcare with full and part time care for children from 3 months through to 6 years old and after-school care for children who attend school in the local area.
We engage and support the local community with our Community Hub space, through Community Employment schemes for those are long-term unemployed, social housing for those experiencing homelessness and Breathe, a safe space where you can be yourself.
We have everything you need in our gyms to get fit and healthy. Our facilities for hire include dance studios, an indoor sports hall and a range of outdoor Astro pitches. All profits from our fitness social enterprises go towards funding our work with vulnerable young people in Dublin’s inner city.
You can get involved with YMCA Dublin in loads of different ways, as a once off or on an ongoing basis. You can get involved by donating, volunteering, fundraising or getting your company involved as a corporate partner.
We have a range of gym only or gym and class membership options for our Aungier St or Sandymount gyms. We have no joining fees on any of these options and all profits support our work with vulnerable young people in Dublin’s inner city.
