These entities collaborate under a unified governance structure. City of Dublin YMCA CLG is the sole trustee of the YMCA Trust, ensuring coordinated decision-making across both entities.
Board Responsibilities
The Board of Trustee Directors plays a crucial role in guiding the operations of YMCA Dublin. Its key responsibilities include:
- Setting Strategic Direction: Defining the organisation’s goals and monitoring progress.
- Ensuring Compliance: Upholding legal and regulatory requirements.
- Financial Oversight: Managing financial health and assessing risks.
- Fostering Relationships: Building and maintaining engagement with stakeholders.
The Board meets eight times a year, with additional subcommittee meetings. YMCA Dublin’s Board members are selected for their extensive skills and experience, bringing diverse perspectives from various sectors.

The current Board members include:

Day-to-day operational responsibilities are delegated to the Executive Management Team, which includes a Chief Executive and a Deputy CEO/Development Director. This team oversees daily operations and is supported by approximately 75 dedicated staff members who help implement the organisation’s programmes and services.
Subcommittees of the Board
To support effective governance, YMCA Dublin’s Board is assisted by the following subcommittees:
- Finance Subcommittee: Reviews financial performance and assesses risk.
- Development Subcommittee: Evaluates proposals, service ideas, and capital projects to ensure alignment with strategic goals and budget.
- Impact Subcommittee: Reviews social impact, measurement and supports decision-making concerning Children, Youth, Community and Family Services in existing and future Hubs.
- Personnel/HR Subcommittee: Focuses on human resources strategies, policies, and staff development.
- Governance/Legal Subcommittee: Reviews governance practices and provides oversight to maintain compliance with regulations.
