Community

We engage with and support the local community with our Community Hub space, through Community Employment schemes for those who are long term unemployed, social housing for those who are experiencing homelessness and Breathe, a space where you can be yourself. We run many community events throughout the year such as our community breakfasts, Celebrate the Y day and Family Fun Day.

Community Hub

Our aim is to use the community hub as a way to help the YMCA engage with, encourage, support and help develop the local community and to increase the activity in the communities of Dublin 2 and 8.

Community Employment

The Community Employment programme is a DSP Employment Programme which has been designed to assist people who are long-term unemployed and other disadvantaged people to get back to work by offering part-time and temporary placements in jobs based within local communities

Breathe

‘Breathe’ is the name of a small group of people aiming to hang out in the Aungier Street area of South Dublin, asking the question ‘what is God up to here – how can we join in?’We are committed to standards of excellence, giving children the best start in life.

Housing

In partnership with Depaul Ireland we deliver a supported housing project for 35 young homeless people ( 18-30yrs). Residents are assigned a qualified key worker who works actively with them on care plans to get ready for independent living.

Our Events
