With a national track record in managing sports and fitness centres – and years of voluntary youth work through Scouts – Eoghan brings a strong mix of leadership experience and community spirit to YMCA Dublin. His move into the Sports Centre Manager role reflects not just his skills, but a return to something he’s always been passionate about.
“I’ve managed sports centres nationally for several years and stayed involved in youth work through my volunteering with Scouts. I believe those two paths have led me to YMCA Dublin.”
After several years working in the healthcare sector, Eoghan saw the opportunity at YMCA Dublin as a way to reconnect with the kind of work that energises him most.
“Due to Covid-19 my career path changed significantly and I moved into the healthcare sector for several years. The opportunity with YMCA Dublin brings me back into the sector that I am most passionate about.”
Eoghan’s leadership approach is values-driven – grounded in accountability and teamwork. It’s one of the reasons he felt so aligned with YMCA Dublin from the start.
“YMCA Dublin’s values of Welcoming, Inclusive, Empowering, Caring, and Responsible are values that I believe align with my leadership style. Empowering my team and taking accountability are leadership qualities I feel I have.”

Since joining the team in March, he’s been focused on the potential ahead – not just to grow YMCA Fitness, but to make it a more integrated part of the wider organisation.
“There is huge potential for YMCA Fitness – its location, community base, and existing programmes and services are great. These are all opportunities for growth for the fitness brand.”
He’s also passionate about ensuring fitness supports more than just physical wellbeing – it’s about connection, education, and impact across teams and services.
“Integration among other services and educating on how fitness can benefit all other services, for both staff and users – that’s where I see the real potential. Being that voice for fitness.”
We’re delighted to have recently welcomed Eoghan to the team. With his blend of leadership experience, shared values, and passion for community-focused fitness, we’re excited to see the direction he’ll take YMCA Dublin’s Sports Centre in the months and years ahead.
