YMCA Dublin will join YMCAs across Ireland to host a number of wellbeing events this October as part of the nationwide Small Talks campaign, aiming to encourage and support positive mental health.
As a movement that values wellbeing, YMCA encourages a holistic approach in body, mind and spirit and actively works to promote and support mental health across the movement. We know that having positive conversations about mental health can make a big difference to people’s lives and here at YMCA Dublin, we will be using the day to host activities to raise awareness of the importance of talking.
“Here at YMCA Dublin, we recognise that the mental health challenges faced by our communities are a shared concern nationwide and are proud to be collaborating with YMCAs across Ireland for the ‘Small Talks’ campaign, signifying a collective commitment to addressing these issues. Through local events and initiatives, we are creating spaces for vital conversations amongst our service users, members of our community, and employees. We hope that together, we can make a big difference, one small talk at a time.” – Russell Wilbourne, YMCA Dublin Childcare Manager
World Mental Health Day takes place on Tuesday 10 October, and provides the opportunity to kick start those Small Talks, helping to break the stigma around mental health.
